AFRICA
i've always been fascinated by the congo. on a map it always represented the very heart of africa, the wild, impenetrable, unknown land of dark jungles...
i couldn't believe my eyes the first time i set eyes on aN AVIATION map of this part of the world; large sections of the map, devoid of features and elevations... a no man's land with the simple annotation: "relief data unavailable".
i knew immediately that I'd love the flying HERE.
flying over rwanda you get the feeling that land is a scarce and highly prized commodity. it seems as though every square inch of earth is being developed or farmed.
each plot is organized for maximum yield and it's no wonder in such a densely populated country.
on lake kivu i was surprised to see that even the tiny islands have been parceled out and sown with crops.
